I hope this letter finds you and your family safe and well. We are happy to report that Riverview Estates has no cases of the coronavirus within our resident population. Our diligence in following guidelines is proving to be successful! We will continue with all our initiatives.
This week many of our residents enjoyed watching the US Navy Blue Angels and US Air Force Thunderbirds honoring first responders. It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day for the event.
We now look forward to Mother’s Day which is soon approaching. This year, Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 10, 2020. Although sitting down for a traditional Mother’s Day dinner is not possible, there are still ways to celebrate from a safe and healthy distance. The single best present that we can give is to spare them the risk of catching a very dangerous disease.
We encourage you to call Riverview Estates to set up an online celebration or window visit. Your mom would be thrilled if she sat down in front of our large TV screen and discovered you arranged a DUO call with her family and favorite friends. If a platform like DUO is not her style, a window visit is another fun and easy way to get multiple family and friends all together. This being said, we ask you to PLEASE contact the Social Services or Activities Department to make arrangements for your call or window visit. We ask that your plan to call or visit be arranged on a week day only when the bulk of the staff is present to help get your loved one ready for your visit.
In an effort to make this Mother’s Day special and memorable, our Dietary Department will be providing a special Mother’s Day Luncheon for our residents. The menu includes Sliced Roast Beef au Jus, Scalloped Potatoes, Stuffed Flounder with Crab meat in a Lemon Butter Sauce, Roasted Tomatoes and Summer Mixed Vegetables. For dessert we will be serving Key Lime Pie.
We will get through this. We are all in this together.
